 Our ever increasing use of electronic devices is leading to an ever increasing use of electricity to power them. Much of this electricity is generated using climate-changing fossil fuels. Could you power your iPhone in a green way?Imagine charging your mobile device using the sun’s rays. Novothink imagined exactly that and came out with their Solar Surge charging pack. Charge up the pack by leaving it in the sun, and when your iPhone needs charging you just plug it in. The charge is then transferred from the pack to your iPhone once it needs recharging. There is, however, a slight catch. Two hours of charging the pack will yield only 20 minutes of talk time. That’s not going to get most people through the day.
The Solar Surge is not going to change our energy generation anytime soon, but it’s good to see that companies are investing in research into cleaner generating techniques that will in the future provide us more options.
