WorldZen
encapsulates the belief that how we respect our world defines how we respect ourselves. To have a good environment means having a good life, yet how well do we meld 21st century life and planetary respect?

Climate change case stronger than ever PDF Print E-mail

What will a post climate-change world look like? The UK’s Met Office has released a report looking at over 100 peer-reviewed scientific studies on climate change. This report demonstrates that the case for climate change is stronger than ever.

Today the world is split into climate change sceptics and those who believe that human beings are having an effect on their climate. Despite the number of reports of changes to the natural environment, doubters believe that this is just part of the natural cycle of the Earth’s climate. They conclude that there is nothing to worry about and that we should go on burning oil and creating pollution.

Time reports that scientists have been creating supercomputer models of the Earth’s natural warming activity, such as volcanoes and solar activity, but that these models have not managed to describe the phenomenon viewed in nature. However, when the impact of climate change gases is added into these computer simulations, the results is much closer to the patterns observed in the natural environment.

Climate change is with us, and the effects have been modelled beyond any conceivable doubt. The need now is to make changes to our behaviour to reduce the causes and impact of climate change. Moving to a more Zen lifestyle can reduce your carbon impact which will enable you to contribute to climate protection!
