![]() Massaging a baby is to use the sense of touch to establish a positive ans emotional relationship with one's child. Via the massage, your baby will receive pleasure whilst entering into a state of relaxation which will, for example, be beneficial for their stress and sleep. Touching and rubbing your baby's skin will also help stimulate good health throughout their body. The following video is a great example Massage can be practised from birth and is beneficial at every age. With very young babies, less than two months old, it's better to just massage hands and feet. Oils of almond, coconut and tumeric are excellent bases to which one can add essential oils of lavender or mandarine which are appreciated by babies. A word of caution though, many essential oils are not suitable for use with very young children. Consult your doctor if in doubt. Many mid-wives organise sessions to introduce baby massages and the correct combinations of massage oils and essential oils. Contact yours today to find out if there's a session happening near you! |
